The AACIS Florida Animal Control Officer Certification Course is an instructor-led course designed for students who are interested in obtaining a Florida animal control officer certification as prescribed under Florida Statute 828.27(4)(a)(1).
Registrants will participate in open discussions and participate in classroom activities on topics including, but not limited to animal control officer ethics & professionalism, investigative report writing, constitutional law, Florida animal laws, courtroom preparation and presentation, field operations, animal knowledge, rabies awareness and prevention, animal cruelty investigations, and fundamental concepts of animal sheltering.
Completion of this course requires that all registrants attend the entire course, participate in all discussions and hands-on training exercises, pass a written examination with a score of 80% or higher.
Registrants that successfully pass this course will receive a certification from the American Animal Cruelty Investigations School with the designation as a certified Florida Animal Control Officer.
