The Arkansas Basic Animal Control Certification – Module B is an instructor-led course designed for law enforcement and animal care and control personnel who are responsible for performing the animal care and control function as required by Arkansas law. This is the second part of a two-part certification course for Arkansas animal control officers. This course also qualifies as a stand-alone animal cruelty investigator certification.
This course includes block training in dangerous dog investigations, hoarding investigations, dogfighting investigations, neglect and intentional cruelty investigations, legal environment, crime scene processing, and zoonotic diseases.
Students must attend all lectures, participate in all hands-on activities and scenario-based training, and pass written examination with a score of 75% or higher.
Registrants that successfully pass this course will receive a certification from the American Animal Cruelty Investigations School with the designation as an Canine/Feline Animal Cruelty Investigator as well as Animal Control Officer – Module B for the state of Arkansas. A third certification is included in this class for conducting Investigative Body Condition Score Assessments for canine and feline animals. Once both module A and B have been completed, officers will receive a full certification as an Animal Control Officer – State of Arkansas.
