The Dangerous Dog Investigator Certification course is an instructor-led course designed for law enforcement and animal care and control professionals in the state of Alabama who are responsible for conducting dangerous dog investigations as required by Alabama law. The course includes a detailed review of Emily’s Law, the liability associated with dangerous dog investigations, and the proper methods required to conduct a comprehensive investigation, including crime scene analysis and case file development.
Registrants will participate in open discussions of one or more dangerous dog investigations as part of a group case file analysis and demonstrate proper documentation of injuries and required animal records.
Completion of this course requires that all registrants attend the entire course, participate in all discussions, and pass a written examination with a score of 75% or higher.
Registrants that successfully pass this course will receive a certification from the American Animal Cruelty Investigations School with the designation as a certified Dangerous Dog Investigator: State of Alabama
