The AACIS Infrared Thermometry Certification Course is an instructor-led course designed for law enforcement and animal care and control professionals whose duties may require taking temperature measurements as part of criminal investigations, especially incident involving animals left unattended in hot vehicles.
Registrants will participate in open discussions and demonstrate proficiency in utilizing infrared thermometers to process vehicles and the surrounding environment. Topics will include:
Students are issued a Fluke 62 Max Plus infrared thermometer as part of the training class.
Completion of this course requires that all registrants attend the entire course, participate in all discussions and hands-on training exercises, pass a written examination with a score of 75% or higher, and pass the practical assessment test in the areas of animal assessment, heatstroke treatment, vehicle processing, and report writing.
Registrants that successfully pass this course will receive a certification from the American Animal Cruelty Investigations School with the certification in Infrared Thermometry.
